The Role Overview

We seek a creative and strategic Social Media Manager to play a key role in building Origin’s reputation as a pioneer in the speciality coffee industry.

This role will be responsible for building and executing our social media strategy. You will oversee creating and delivering a best-in-class social experience, working collaboratively to achieve outstanding results.

This role will live and breathe all things Origin. You are obsessed with crafting exceptional content in a beautiful and premium way. From our producer relationships, sustainability journey, and incredible coffee to our award-winning coffee shops, education programme, and the 100 wholesale partners we love to celebrate, there is a rich seam of incredible stories to be shared and celebrated.

The Origin community sits at the heart of this role, and we are looking for someone deeply passionate and talented in fostering this and delivering an exceptional, distinctly Origin experience.

You’ll lead the voice of our brand on social media, driving engagement, awareness, and conversations through authentic and visually beautiful content.

Being tuned into the commercial priorities of the business and the brand itself is essential for this role. Understanding the part both elements play in helping us achieve our goals, the Social Media Manager ensures they understand the objectives of any project and stakeholders before getting to work.

The Role Responsibilities

Social Media
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to align with the brand's creative voice and meet business goals and objectives (e.g., increasing brand awareness, growing our presence in the speciality coffee industry, and landing brilliant storytelling).
  • In addition to owning our main channels (Instagram and LinkedIn), you will constantly review and consider new channel opportunities for the brand.
  • The ability to plan is key; this role is responsible for keeping the social calendar up to date, always working at least two weeks in advance.
  • You will harmoniously blend the priorities and requirements of our different channels into a well-organised plan.
  • You will work closely with the business channels and marketing managers to understand their priorities and how social media can support them.
  • Plan and execute social media campaigns around key coffee launches, events, promotions, and calendar moments and develop a consistent drumbeat of engaging and on-brand storytelling.
  • You will constantly track and measure the performance of all social content across all channels. You will deliver a monthly social report to the wider team and make informed decisions to optimise performance month on month.

Content
  • With your photography and design skills, you will create engaging and visually beautiful content that sets Origin apart from the competition.
  • You will edit images and videos, create cutdowns, and use pre-sets to produce brand-led content that is aesthetically Original and distinctly ‘speciality’.
  • You will travel to our coffee shops, wholesale customers, and events, capturing stills and videos that bring our spaces, people, and brand stories to life.
  • You will manage the Origin content production schedule, briefing the content creator and freelance creators as required. You will have ownership of all deliverables and ensure they meet all brand requirements.

Community Engagement
  • You will foster a strong online community by meaningfully engaging with our followers (e.g., responding to comments and direct messages and celebrating our customers across retail, wholesale, and e-commerce).
  • You will be fully tuned in to the priorities of the different business channels to ensure that you are fostering and engaging with our key audience groups in the right way.

Influencers & Partnerships
  • You will be responsible for driving influencer outreach and management for Origin.
  • You will build partnerships with influencers, brand advocates, and other creatives by identifying on-brand tastemakers in social communities and reaching out to them to achieve coverage on a monthly and project-specific level.
  • You will oversee managing any partnerships across social media, ensuring this aligns with the brand.

Experience and Skills
  • You will have a strong affinity with Origin’s visual aesthetic and be able to reflect this consistently across every touchpoint of your work.
  • An understanding and natural passion for the speciality coffee industry.
  • Strong creative abilities, including photography, design, and video-editing skills to produce beautiful, engaging content.
  • Proven experience in a Social Media Executive/Manager role and within premium lifestyle businesses.
  • A passionate storyteller who aligns with the Origin brand and how we position ourselves to various audiences within our community.
  • A strong understanding of how social media strategy aligns with business priorities and contributes to measurable growth.
  • With a customer-first mindset and commercial acumen, you can think across different content streams and prioritise our omnichannel business and optimise content accordingly.
  • Ability to analyse performance metrics, generate insight-driven reports, and optimise content accordingly.
  • Highly organised with exceptional project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Superior copywriting and communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Meta Business Suite, Adobe, Figma, Canva, Lightroom, and video editing software.
  • Experience mentoring or managing team members to deliver their best work.
