Be Amazing NYC is a small business with a big heart, founded by teenage LGBTQ+ advocate, Desmond Napoles. Born and raised in the vibrant city of New York, Desmond has always been passionate about fashion and using their platform to give back to their community. At Be Amazing NYC, we offer a diverse and inclusive range of products inspired by and affirming to the LGBTQ+ community. Although we currently only offer a selection of shoes, we are committed to continually expanding our product line to include a wide range of items, including apparel, bags, jewelry, accessories, home goods, and lifestyle products, so that we can cater to everyone's needs. We believe in body positivity and will carry inclusive sizing on our apparel products. Desmond, the visionary behind Be Amazing NYC, is personally involved in every step of the creative process. They design and create the textiles for our products and curate our store with items from other companies that align with our vision. As a small business owner, Desmond is passionate about giving back to their community. They donate a portion of the proceeds from select items to non-profits that benefit communities and also offset carbon emissions. At Be Amazing NYC, we are committed to promoting ethical and sustainable practices in all aspects of our business. We take pride in made-to-order manufacturing our own line of Be Amazing NYC brand products using eco-friendly materials whenever possible. While we strive to use eco-friendly materials in all of our products, we recognize that this is not always possible given the fashion industry's historical reliance on synthetic materials and its well-documented history of unethical labor practices. To ensure that we prioritize sustainable practices, ethical labor standards, and the use of eco-friendly materials in all of our Be Amazing NYC products, we are actively exploring alternative manufacturers who share our values. By doing so, we aim to continuously improve our manufacturing process and minimize our impact on both the environment and human rights. Additionally, we are constantly searching for new ways to recycle our garments once customers no longer want them, in order to divert them from landfills and promote responsible consumption. In addition, we produce our products one piece at a time, which is in contrast to the fast fashion model of business. We focus on creating timeless pieces that can be worn year after year, and our collection includes stylish clothing options that are designed for members of the LGBTQ+ community to wear with pride, not just during Pride Month. We continuously expand and evolve our product line to reflect our commitment to providing our customers with the latest styles that express their individual identity. Our beloved logo, a pigeon, represents not only our love for the city of New York but also our commitment to individuality and inclusivity. Pigeons are often criticized and dismissed, but we see them as beautiful and resilient creatures. They've adapted to urban environments, found their place in the city, and are an integral part of its culture despite facing the challenges of living in a gritty and unpleasant environment. Pigeons are often unfairly maligned as being undesirable, just as members of the LGBTQ+ community are frequently stigmatized and discriminated against due to narrow-minded attitudes and prejudices. Similarly, our brand celebrates diversity and the unique beauty of every individual.
