About

2020 brought about a much-needed conversation concerning racial injustice, systematic issues concerning the health and lives of our BAME health workers, the repercussions of Brexit alongside the deportation of the Windrush generation. It begs the question; What next? How do we heal collectively as a community? “Hope has two beautiful daughters; their names are Anger and Courage. Anger at the way things are, and Courage to see that they do not remain as they are”. -St Augustine of Hippo In collaboration with the Hackney Historic Building Trust, ‘Hope and her two daughters’ is an experimental poetry and contemporary dance project which aims to explore the question ‘What Next’? What are we angry about? Do we have the courage to bring about change individually and collectively?
