On 17th May, our Founder and Cheif Purpose Officer, Sulaiman, had a great time Campaign Magzine’s Media360 event at the Grand Hotel in Brighton. He is honoured to have been on a diversity panel at the event with his friends Elizabeth Uviebinené, Nishma Robb, and Sereena Abbassi that was moderated by Nicola Kemp (Trends Editor, Campaign). They chatted all things diversity and inclusion in the media industry. So much richness from these four incredible women, and Sulaiman is proud (and humbled) to have shared the stage with them.
They were obviously the best dressed panel and speakers at the event too. If you're interested, read more about the panel discussion at the event here. Sulaiman sends a massive thank you to the Campaign and Media-360 team for the invite and for the great day, as well as a massive big up to his stellar panel for letting him share the stage with them. He loved every second! From here, we look forward to collaborating with you all to create tangible, positive inclusion in the creative industries and as Nishma best said to “…ban all diversity panels…”
“Do not follow the path. Go where there is no path to begin the trail.” — Ashanti proverb.
"Unleashing the power in difference: harnessing diversity & inclusion
Despite a major drive to tackle the industry’s diversity and inclusion problem, there is still a long way to go. In a world where it has been proved beyond doubt that difference leads to improved business performance, why are the creative industries still an impenetrable space for all too many, and how can we tackle bias and preconceptions to achieve greater balance?
