A world united

  • Alan Firmin

I have always enjoyed reading and writing poetry. I recently started adding poetry to a accompany music street photography on Instagram. If last year, you had said to me, The year 2020, is going to be, Worse than ‘19, but not just for you, I would have said, ‘you don’t have a clue!’ With so much of the world, now in lockdown, & our Hospital staff, trying not to drown, We pray they stay safe, & with their families, This Microscopic enemy, brought us to our knees, We try to work, without watching the news, Or listening to, a million people’s views, It’s hard to filter, fiction from fact, But it seems the people, have made a pact, Finally the world, is coming together, Let’s hope this way, really lasts forever, For what we are, capable of as one, Pain & suffering, would almost be gone, We would all get along, no need for war, Peace & harmony, would suddenly soar, Together in union, a new path we would tread, And all our children, wouldn’t have to dread, What the future holds, we can hope we’ll see, The human race, fulfil its destiny.
