ADVICE FROM NADRA SHAH, DIRECTOR OF CULTURE, THE HOUSE OF ST BARNABAS

  • Nadra Shah
To celebrate International Women’s Day, we spoke to some of the most inspiring women on The Dots who are doing exciting things, changing the creative landscape.

Over the rest of the week, we’ll be highlighting their work, thoughts on what it means to them to be in the creative industries, their inspirations, aspirations, iconic role models and sage words of advice.

Next up, we have Nadra Shah, Director of Culture at The House of St Barnabas, a Not-for-profit private members’ club in the heart of Soho with a drive for social change at its heart.
Do you have words of wisdom for other women looking to break into the industry?

Find a role model and watch, listen and emulate. I’ve been very lucky to work with many great women (and men) of all ages and I never miss the opportunity to learn from those around me. Even those who you may never want to emulate you can still learn from.

Who is your all time female creative icon?

I think Jude Kelly OBE is an absolute trailblazer, what she has done for culture, creative diversity and accessibility is nothing short of amazing.

Check The Dots, our blog, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for inspirational insight throughout the week.
