Our client, ALJ, was very happy with last years report (see ALJ Community Initiatives 2012) and this time I was responsible for the entire project, because in all honesty no one else wanted to work on it. All 150 pages of the report had to be designed, artworked and printed in 3 months. Oh, and there were two versions, Arabic and English. So all the smart designers in the studio knew it was a nightmare brief, but I thought it was a dream job. I saw this report as an opportunity to take the hand-made quality further than we did last year and to experiment with type. It was incredibly fun to work on, especially since we decided to work with black and white to contrast the previous year's colorful report.
