Communication is a symbolic process whereby reality is produced maintained repaired and transformed.
This project wants to reflect how the media is a space where power relations/hierarchies are built. There have been a lot of attacks claimed by the group ISIS around the world, but media has only shown more attention to the attacks around Europe. The project critics the fact that there is not only a media problem but also an audience problem. People naturally care more about news and events that are close to home. Things that reside closer to their collective. The double sided Origami folded pieces show the attacks claimed by the ISIS group in 2015 and give an idea that we shape and participate in the information that is shown to us.
