Amazonas

  • Sipke Shaughnessy

We are developing a feature film based on the real-life experiences of two rowers that became the first people to row the navigable length of the Amazon river. The film will be a psychological horror, portraying the slow erosion of relationships between those on board and the seeping paranoia and exhaustion of the film's protagonists. It will draw on indigenous Amazonian philosophy to depict the protagonists shapeshifting as their relationships turn sour - with the film's protagonists gradually sorting themselves into predators and prey.
