Ampersand

  • Steve Malkerty
The Ampersand is a new landmark building in the heart of Soho, London. Hingston Studio were commissioned to create the branding, visual identity and communications collateral for the project, which included brochure, website, building wrap, marketing suite, reception area and a short film about the collaborators who brought the Ampersand vision to life.
We established a contemporary mark that would work across multiple platforms; in print and online, as well as through a more sculptural means in the physical space of the building itself. This modular identity, has the latitude to be deconstructed and re-applied at different moments throughout the project. For instance a series of abstracted patterns were created to feature throughout the programme - which at their most prominent have been brought to life as a giant graphic canvas that stretches from Wardour Street to Oxford Street, spanning an impressive 112 metres wide by 15 metres high.
Throughout the project I have liaised directly with the client, architects, site project manager and property agents to see the project through to completion.
