About me
With over 16 years in the design and creative industry I have held positions as Creative Director for luxury start up brand FLOWERBX, Design Director and Senior Design positions with respected agencies Hingston Studio and Freshbritain.
Having previously largely worked for small independently owned agencies, my experience and skill set extend beyond design. I have created identities, websites, packaging, books, campaigns, show spaces, signage, posters, record sleeves, apparel, and brochures.
Projects
- FLOWERBXAs Creative Director for FLOWERBX I worked to develop the brand from the shell consisting of only an identity and website to become an expanding global presence, aiming to become the first luxury global ‘flower brand’. Working across every touch point of the brand developing digital and print content, editorial platform THE CUT and FLOWERBMB features, marketing strategies and materials, strategic direction, product development and sourcing, art direction of all visual content, packaging, website UX and re-platform. - UVUWhile at FreshBritain we were asked to create a brand from scratch. Within 26 months of development, the first premium ultra running performance brand was created: UVU. From inception through to product design and branding, FreshBritain guided UVU all the way to the marketplace. Throughout this process I have been at the centre of creating the brand vision, branding, involved in product design, designing an e-commerce website, directing brand films, photographic direction for both brand and product, packaging design and generation of marketing materials. [While at FreshBritain]
- AmpersandThe Ampersand is a new landmark building in the heart of Soho, London. Hingston Studio were commissioned to create the branding, visual identity and communications collateral for the project, which included brochure, website, building wrap, marketing suite, reception area and a short film about the collaborators who brought the Ampersand vision to life. We established a contemporary mark that would work across multiple platforms; in print and online, as well as through a more sculptural means in the physical space of the building itself. This modular identity, has the latitude to be deconstructed and re-applied at different moments throughout the project. For instance a series of abstracted patterns were created to feature throughout the programme - which at their most prominent have been brought to life as a giant graphic canvas that stretches from Wardour Street to Oxford Street, spanning an impressive 112 metres wide by 15 metres high. Throughout the project I have liaised directly with the client, architects, site project manager and property agents to see the project through to completion. [While at Hingston Studio]
- SalomonFrom the initial strategic repositioning of Salomon as ‘The Mountain Sports Company’ I worked on many projects for Brand Director Niclas Bornling while at FreshBritain. Projects included producing a brand bible and brand film, Visual Language guidelines, Freeski sub–brand rebranding, point of sale material and product category development. In 2011, I worked in collaboration with Nick and Jeff from Planning Unit on a core identity rebrand, reinterpreting and reinstating the much loved original ‘Heritage S’ identity.
