An Afternoon in Heaven is an introductory project which leads to the Final project - Paradise of Paradises.
In this project, the theme ‘paradise’ has been explored, several film making techniques have been tested and evaluated.
The first stage of the project involved collecting information to build up an archive about ‘paradise spaces'. This involved reading texts such as religious or mythical stories, studying paintings/mappamundis that depict paradises, and visiting churches/temples etc. After the initial research, sketching, digital painting and 3d modelling are carried out to generate the immediate feel/look of these ‘paradisiacal moments/spaces'. These ‘paradisiacal moments’ are further accumulated, refined and tested against the site.
Finally, the‘fly-through’ film technique was used to generate and test the spatial experience through these paradisiacal moments/spaces.
