Animal Farm

The project is a part of Book Cover Design competition for Penguin 2018 Student Design Award (Adult Fiction): Animal Farm by George Orwell.
The chant of the sheep The idea for the cover takes inspiration from the sheep chant, which in the beginning of the book is “Four legs good! Two legs bad!” and by the end of the story changed to “Four legs good! Two legs better!”. For me, the chant symbolises the evolution in the nature of the animals of the farm.
The brush style typographic approach calls to mind the written commandments of Animalism on the wall (or the cover) that are altered in the end to account for the humanisation of the animals.
