Athlette, A Girl Who Fell from the Banana Tree – zine

With a love of personal stories and a background in photography, together with talented Anke Defossé we decided to publish a photo book that bases on her family story. With her works Defossé tries to ‘season’ the space of the book, thus giving a personal touch and introducing the reader to her poignant story. The book is an attempt to minimize the misunderstanding of adults’ world. It serves as a way to protect the youngest from the bitter taste of things they are not able to grasp yet. Hence, let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, a girl was said to had fallen from a banana tree and sat on the throne forever.
