Authenticity

  • Cara Budd
Cara Budd has been influenced through research surrounded on how images are described as glimpses of reality (Chayowski, 2016). With this description of how images only show parts of reality it ignited a concept in which she investigates parts of images through print and drawings.
In regards to the original images she takes a selection of urban and architectural images from London and Birmingham, in which she draws from to create the sublimated images.
The stainless steel structures are laser welded together, then powder coater in order to add a matt coloured finish. The images are sublimated onto stainless steel sheet and heat treated to prevent fading.
This collections aims to provoke reactions to the prints and structural forms created in order to show the viewer that images are only parts of what we see. Much more is to understand and remember the feelings of the surroundings.
