B&H Kitchen

Six months after Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings launched, one of the spaces was utilised to create a cookery school. A warm intimate space, the Kitchen offers a range of culinary classes as well as operating as a private dining room for parties with personal chef, wine tastings, TV filming and other one-off special events.
As project manager, I looked after every aspect of the build. Liaising with British Standard, selecting the custom built cupboards and counter top, and arranging the fitting. In charge of the decor, I also sourced two pieces of waney edged London Plane from a local timber mill, ensuring the wood matched the wooden counter top and oak parquet floor. The table top became the centrepiece of the whole space and can be set at two different heights – for dining or for a cookery class.
The Kitchen uses V-Zug cooking equipment. I worked with the Executive Chef to negotiate a contract with V-Zug for a discount on the equipment. The Kitchen is now used as an official showroom and demonstration space for V-Zug.
