DESCRIPTION

This festival is about educating, entertaining and empowering the BAME community in London to be the change we want to see in the world.
Between the 16th and 18th of November, we're going to have a weekend full of amazing panels, keynotes, classes, and parties as well as a live Podcast recording, an art exhibition, food and drinks merchants, pop-ups and so much more.
This festival is supported by fantastic partners including - ASOS, The Dots, Purpose, Raise the Roof Kenya, This is our Period, Black Girls Rule.LDN and The Africa Centre.

This day is all about empowering you to be the best version of yourself possible. We've got panels, keynote speakers, TED-style talks a whole lot of food, drinks, fashion and beauty.

10.30am - 11.30am - Whiteness in Wellness (a bid for inclusivity), panel discussion led by Samantha Moyo, founder of Morning Gloryville
11.30am - 12:30pm - An honest conversation about being a working mother, led by Nafisa Bakkar, CEO and Co-founder of Amaliah
12:30pm - 1:30pm - Period Poverty in the UK LIVE podcast with The Vulnerable Podcast interviewing Saschan Fearon Joseph, the founder of The Womb Room.
1:30pm - 2:30pm - Panel discussion led by Urenna Okonkwo, founder of Cashmere
2:30pm - 3.00pm - Break, go to the pop-up, go get some food, fruits and/or drinks
3:00pm - 4:30pm - Charity spotlight with Raise the Roof Kenya - learn about the work the charity we’re supporting is doing in Kenya.

FAQs

WHY IS THERE A TICKET PRICE?
BAME Freedom Festival is in support of Period Poverty Week. We are raising money for girls in Kenya who are not able to afford sanitary products during their periods and therefore miss multiple days of school. We want to make life easier for them so they have the freedom to live their best lives. We're celebrating our freedom and giving girls in Kenya the opportunity to do the same.
WHICH CHARITY IS THE MONEY GOING TO?
The money you give us via your ticket is going to this fundraising campaign by Raise the Roof Kenya
IS IT ONLY FOR BAME PEOPLE?
Anyone is welcome to join us during the festival.
