BBC Online for Schools

In the late 1990s many schools were still recording and storing educational TV content from the BBC on VHS and audio cassettes. The launch of BBC Schools Online gave schools access to all the BBC's content online, over the web for the first time. It also allowed the BBC to offer more interactive and engaging learning experiences. The service started as a pure web service, but then as broadband capability developed, programes on demand were added. This promotional video from 1999 was part of the first dedicated campaign for BBC Schools Online. Briefed and approved by Andrew Warner for BBC, creative concept by Leagas Delaney, production by BBC Productions. Director Simon Levene.
