I find it fascinating how much our lifestyle, both edible and non-edible crops are dependent on bees. Following on from an article I had read, I conducted a research project based around the decline of bees. From my findings I created a coffee-table book with the aim it would be dipped in and out of with residing information about the amazing creatures. I have sold a couple of copies of this book but I feel that bees are such an important part of our infrastructure that it would be really good to get the books into schools to educate younger generations.
The project then lead on to creating a game based around the information within the book. It was a very traditional style game, both stylistically and with the recyled wood used. I wanted to keep it as eco-friendly as possible. I felt that by incorporating an interactive element people would indefinitely remember the given information much more.
In an effort to represent how important bees are to us, I felt by using the common ground of money people would be able to relate. These letterpressed posters were exhibited alongside the book and game.
