Beneath the Surface

Beneath the Surface highlights the delicate and sensual nature of the coral ecosystem and how carbon pollution is leading to the underwater organisms to die, through the abstraction of textures and surfaces combined with a contrasting colour palette. By using colour as a way of showing the stark contrast between the living and dead organisms, the collection emulates the message of an ever changing ecosystem. Through the use of carefully considered materials such as, neoprene and veil netting alongside techniques such as laser cutting, fabric manipulation and embellishments the collection embodies the complex surface qualities of the coral whilst also being suitable for the high end women’s fashion market.
