Beneath The Surface is an animation about two best friends growing up in the same world but experiencing it completely differently. Over three minutes we observe Cherelle and Minomi’s 25 year relationship, plagued with micro-aggressions and realisations. Yero Timi-Biu is a writer, producer and director for theatre, film and TV.
She works at BBC Studios and she has been commissioned by Creative Scotland, UK Film Council and Arts Council England for her past personal work. Jessica Ashman is a London based, BAFTA in Scotland award-winning animator, artist and arts educator.
She has been commissioned by the BBC, Channel 4 and Arts Council England and worked with the ICA, Animate Projects and the Tate Modern on arts education projects. First Acts is a series of films celebrating England's most exciting 16 - 24 year-old artist filmmakers in partnership with the Arts Council England and Random Acts.
