Beyond the Wall

Beyond the Wall is a wallpaper collection inspired by a brief set by interiors company: Graham and Brown. My inspiration for this project were the Moorish palaces in the South of Spain: the Alhambra, the Alcazár and the Mezquita. Focused on the architectural details found in Moorish architecture, I combined the superficial beauty of the stone carved buildings with Islamic symbolism within my designs. I investigated the symbolism of architectural elements, colours and interior trends to inform my designs. By drawing, painting and sewing in a trompe lo’eil style, I was able to transfer a 3D effect onto repeat wallpaper designs.
