This illustration is based around the topic of ‘biomimetics’ and plays on the idea that greenhouses recreate and replicated different environments.
This set of 3 illustrations are a response to the subject of ‘biophilia’. The designs were inspired by how, as a from of resistance to male artists objectifying the female nude, women started to take nudes in landscape. Each illustration depicts a woman amongst a Japanese flower, striking a pose that represents the symbolism of the particular flower.
