Black is an end point in colour, it is an absence of any colour. I am painting nothing but Black. However black paint captures light, and can absorb light. The surface is constantly moving as the viewer moves, if the viewer stands still they are captured in the paintings reflective surface of thick solid paint. The viewer is face to face with themselves.
