Blue Cloth Installation at 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair

For the 2019 Edition of 1-54 Contemporary African Art fair, Tola Ojuolape (Distill 2710) was commissioned to design the lounge area. The installation was inspired by the unique concepts in Yoruba heritage & African Art. For this edition of 1:54, Distill 2710 were inspired by Nigerian Textiles and the craftsmanship of cloth as a backdrop and source of inspiration with influences from the works of Nigerian Art Pioneer & artist Chief Nike Okundaye. In order to make this experience even more complete, they collaborated with acclaimed London’s first Nigerian tapas restaurant, Chuku’s to craft a menu featuring authentic Nigerian flavours such as caramel kuli kuli chicken wings, beef ayamase and moi-moi vegan tarts.
