Built in the early 1600’s by the Boys family and situated in the heart of the garden of England, is the wonderful Boys Hall. This stunning grade II Jacobean manor teases its history via ornate original features and character filled spaces, including intricately carved panels which were believed to have been gifted from Windsor Castle. A striking guest-list too includes King Charles I, who stayed at the home while fleeing the forces of Oliver Cromwell, while Samuel Pepys, the 17th century British diarist, is also understood to have stopped by for a visit. . Far from being a time capsule though, owners Kristie and Brad left their careers in hospitality to spend three years lovingly restoring and refurbishing the hall to its former glory to create a stunning boutique hotel, pub and restaurant, overseen by chef Robbie Lorraine, surrounded by beautifully planted gardens – all just 45 minutes from central London. . They say “At our hearts we are hosts; we tell stories and share our passion, we delight in our experiences and hearing those of others. We can’t wait to welcome you in to have the best seat by the fire, try our wines and while away the hours.”
