In honor of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Akvilė Les, London based fashion artist and illustrator, has created a series of illustrations to raise awareness. Les, who is known for exploring reducing waste and creative sustainability by incorporating unused and expired lipstick tubes in her paintings, this time has revealed four drawings of women, featuring the widely recognised pink ribbon. The pink ribbon, established in the early 90s by Evelyn Lauder, Senior Corporate VP of the Esteé Lauder Companies and the founder of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, today is the international symbol of the annual global health campaign taking place every October. The campaign’s aim is to increase awareness of the disease, offer information and support, raise funds, and educate people about the importance of early testing and screening.
