Brent 2020: The Kilburn High

Brent was London’s Borough of Culture in 2020. Prior to Covid-19 pandemic, the borough had a range of events planned for the year to celebrate the borough’s vibrant cultural history, exploring the stories, art and emotions that hold life in Brent together. One of these events - Kilburn High - was set to be a large street party taking place along the Kilburn High Road - London’s oldest, longest and liveliest road. Kilburn High was set to be a colourful, joyful and political event with music, art, street theatre, environmental projects and dance performances as well as spaces for people to connect, get inspired, dream and think big. Working alongside Jade Adeyemi and Santong Li on a submission to win this brief, I designed some of the elements that would be in use the event.
