Brown Is

In my photo series, “Brown Is,”I celebrated the solidarity between South Asian people and communities! I started my platform because I thought I didn’t fit. I felt othered by those who didn’t look like me but more so by those who did. But wasn’t alone - I wanted to represent South Asians of all shapes, sizes, genders, and communities in one space- to learn their stories, to celebrate how beautifully brown we are! Each colour symbolises topics that are often relegated to taboo in South Asian cultures. I was honoured to take part in this shoot with people I adore, I felt seen, powerful and beautiful.
