Birmingham’s air pollution is at an all-time high, obesity numbers are on the rise and the enforcement of the clean air tax means that driving within the city is becoming more expensive than ever. Byk is a cycle hire service for the people of Birmingham. Byk means bull – bulls are fired up, focused and ready to go. Synonymous with Birmingham, the iconography of the bull allows the public to feel both empowered to cycle and imbued with Birmingham’s collective spirit. Byk will prioritise the safety of its users to ensure this new community can gain a newfound trust in cycling. GPS-based bikes will be accessible through our mobile app to residents and tourists alike.
