CANVAS is a student-run journal, generously supported by the History of Art society and the Edinburgh College of Art. Our first issue was released both online and in print in September 2015. This journal consists of student’s artworks, art-related articles and essays, as well as event information on exhibitions and shows. Students of all years and on all degrees are encouraged to get involved in this journal - whether by submitting work or being part of the team. I have worked with CANVAS over the last year as the Head Culture Editor, curating the best long-form cultural journalism and creative writing from students across many disciplines at the University of Edinburgh. I also contribute articles and creative writing, the most recent being an opinion piece inspired by reviewing the Barbican's recent 'Modern Couples' exhibition. The article can be found in our most recent publication, Issue 8 : Absurdity. CANVAS is a magazine that prides itself on being inclusive, innovative and exciting. Since new management took over the magazine last year, we have aimed to maximize our readership by re-branding our aesthetic and publicity. The success of this can be seen in our very well attended launch event for issue 7 which was attended by more than 200 students from a wide range of subject areas. http://www.canvasjournal.com/team-1
