Capture the Night - ITV x Samsung

Capture the Night is a four part advertising campaign partnership between ITV and Samsung. With the launch of Samsung's Galaxy Ultra S23, the concept was to go on an adventure of different challenges where our ITV talent could capture the most epic shots. Having ITV talent Fleur East and Olly Murs at the center of campaign, it was the perfect opportunity to integrate the two brands in a playful and fun campaign to live across TV and socials for five weeks. Location Location


Challenge: It’s time to see how good our Talent’s photography skills are, as they pair up to  take some scenic shots of the city at night. Here our talent will push the image quality to the max as they find unique locations to take stunning photos. We’ll find the locations that the public rarely go, to create uniques images of the city from incredible viewpoints.
Feature: This challenge will show us just how powerful the Samsung Galaxy Diamond truly is and how well the phone can handle itself from different angles, compositions, lighting and viewpoints.
Using the Object eraser function we’ll tidy our images on the go, and then use the “Quickshare’ feature to show how easy it is to send Epic pictures to each other and to create a true “Can you send me that” moment!
Burst Through

Head to Head

Challenge: Our talent gets to gain access to a late night, entertainment venue (arcade experience) where they get to capture all the fun, action and epic moments that are happening around them. This is when both of our ITV Talent challenge each other to games night to remember in a playful, fun moment to bring the adventure full circle.

Feature: This is where ‘Sharing the Epic’ will take full effect, as the Samsung phone will be exposed to a home full of lighting, action, neon lighting, and activities.

This will give us the chance to capture stills and video footage, across the challenge to demonstrate that it can capture scenes of joy and excitement in either mode, worthy of uploading straight to socials, no filter needed. We’ll also make time for that must have palm selfie.
Finale

Now that the night has come to an end, our ITV Talents head back to ITV to showcase  the incredible photos and footage captured throughout the challenge.  Here we head into a studio and surprise the talent as we see the photos scaled up and displayed across the walls of the studio. Truly sharing the quality photos in an epic way.

Then in a final surprise we head outside to see one final image projected on the ITV building for all to see.

Visual Identity

It was essential to create a logo for the campaign that felt sharp and modern, that gave the feeling of something fresh coming from this brand partnership. Using what Samsung had supplied, I wanted it to feel on brand, whilst using my own skill and experience to create a logo that felt fresh, clean and unique.
With the brand guidelines that Samsung had in place for their logo lockup for partnerships, it was essential to follow this through so that the distribution between each partner logo meets the requirements that were in place.
