Chosen Families

Chappy and Survation polled 518 gay men in the UK and found that 47% had experienced homophobia from direct family members, resulting in anxiety and/or depression. 30% of them said they had experienced those reactions in the homes of close family, and 17% in the homes of extended family. As a result, many members of the LGBTQ+ community have built their own chosen families proving that blood isn’t always thicker than water. We created our ‘Chosen Family’ campaign for the holidays 2018 to celebrate our community and their chosen families.
