Climate Class is a book I produced for the EU-funded design and research collaboration Plastic Justice. Featuring the work of 24 students across nine courses at Central Saint Martins, Climate Class explores themes of an ecological education: identifying harmful materials, innovating with more sustainable materials and promoting innovative pedagogy. Climate Class hopes to do as much question-raising as it does problem-solving. The book is a nod to the art students who acknowledge the significance of the changing ecological landscape in their practice, and a prompt to those who don’t yet. Climate Class has recently been exhibited in Theatre Amsterdam for the Plastic Justice Summit, and I have also spoken about the process and outcome of the project at The University of Arts London and Entangled Futures event series inline with COP26.
