Coach AW15

  • Diane Loren
This was Coach first Men’s catwalk show, held at The College (formally Central Saint Martins) and was everything we expected and more. Elegant, Modern and fun. If we think The Beastie Boys, The Kennedy boys, Steve McQueen and Gus Van Sant…and we put them all in a cocktail mixer, Coach Fall15 would be the result, an effortless collection with more than one key wardrobe piece. A men freshly born in NYC.

We got in, and the first room had a collection of accessories and heavy outwear, consisting of shearling coats, boots, leather envelopes and accessories. The predominant colours were orange, black and a camouflage print. Presentation on arrival was accompanied with organic hotdogs and the most amazing truffle and cheese mini toasty. Secretly wishing I had more than one, but my polite personality forced me to have just one….still dreaming of that cheese toasty….focus!

We entered a second room, to discover the catwalk show.

We were pretty much amused by it, so much I only managed to take one mini video of the finale…as I was mesmerised watching the fresh looks.
Amaaazing shearling coats and camouflage print were the dominant theme in the collection accompanied with formal trousers, there were splashes of orange and greens, mixed up with black.

Our favourite piece, the biker/shearling coat!

“The collection reinforces the story that started with the womens’ collections last Fall – elevating the familiar, exploring the tension between utility and luxury with luxe craftsmanship that’s driven by functionality. American silhouettes, pieces that you know, reinterpreted with a new hand for a guy who’s comfortable with his individual style, participates in fashion and the cult of recognizable clothing archetypes that are re-imagined with a luxury perspective.” -Stuart Vevers
