I was assigned at university to create a VFX shot that used colour in some way, this is what I came up with. I shot all of the footage myself using a Blackmagic Cinema Camera in RAW, I shot it in Falmouth, Cornwall.
I used a luminance key to remove the sky and replace it with a matte painting I made in photoshop, I then in displaced the matte painting in 3D space to make the clouds look like they were moving. I then added some colour correction and a flare for the sun to finish it off.
