A highlights video for Quilombo UK's first online cooking class Cooking Together, done remotely during the first lockdown of 2020. Focusing on the large Tamil community in Kingston-Upon-Thames, where Quilombo is based, we looked at the fusion of 2 cultures through the dish chicken tikka masala, a dish originally created by Indian immigrants in Glasgow, the exact origin being open to debate. With this melding of cultures we asked our guests, including Cllr Thay Thayalan, a local councillor in Kingston who is originally from the Tamil community in India, the question "what does it mean to be English nowadays?"
