About me
I am Peter (they/them), I have 5 years of experience writing, producing, shooting, and editing video content for online consumption, as well as experience of live streaming and podcasting. I have a keen interest in both scripted and unscripted content, including drama, documentary, commercial, promotional, and music videos. Alongside this, I have worked on a number of my own personal projects including my documentary short 'A Tower Block in Ladbroke Grove' that won multiple awards at number of film festivals. With these skills and experience I am currently looking for the opportunity to fully break into the film and TV industry proper
Projects
- A Tower Block in Ladbroke GroveOriginally created as part of Open City Film Festival's 2019 Summer School A Tower Block in Ladbroke Grove explores the 2017 Grenfell Tower Fire in London’s Ladbroke Grove from my perspective as someone who grew up in the tower block opposite it; Whitstable House. Through the story of the my childhood and my family's personal experiences, the film looks at some of the issues surrounding social housing in the UK that may have contributed to the disaster, while exploring the community response in
- The Remakery - Commercial #1Commercial video for client The Remakery, within the framework of the Commercial Production course at Iconic Steps. The ethos of the Remakery revolves around sustainability and the reuse of surplus materials in a sustainable way. What can you remake? I stand by the script I wrote, but have regrets at the actor we ended up having to use
- Is Gaming Inclusive & Diverse? As gamers my friend Michael Shalaby and I sat down to discuss diversity, inclusion, and representation in video games. We talked about the misconceptions about gamers as well the stereotypes surrounding them, and we explored the inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters, strong female characters, the large number of women gamers, the large community of queer gamers, such as ourselves, and how the industry and fans have responded to this, from the positive to the overwhelmingly negative from some sectors
- How QUILOMBO UK Adapted & Succeeded during the PANDEMIC!This video is one I shot and edited for Quilombo UK showcasing how they adapted and changed their model of work during the first lockdown in 2020. This was to showcase the changes to their professional development program for volunteers, particularly from BAME and other minority groups, to develop their skills and gain experience to achieve gainful employment in their desired industry, and as an enterprise working to foster conversations about diversity and inclusion through creative endeavours
