In my role as Communications Manager for Somerset County Council's Public Health team, I was given responsibility for planning and implementing a communications campaign around the local response to the Cost of Living crisis. This required me to put together a suite of assets, write clear and concise website copy, liaise with key stakeholders to understand support available and plan a programme of community engagement events to ensure we were reaching those without digital access. During this project, a clear strategy was really important as I quickly identified that there was specific messages that needed communicating to specific cohorts of people. I was very proud to be involved in such a project, where there was a need to communicate valuable information to make a difference to the lives of those who needed support.
