Creative workspace development in former theatre at Hackney Downs Studios
Hackney Downs Studios to offer 40 new design led workspaces to London’s burgeoning creative sector in March 2020.
We're excited to announce our latest development which sees the capacity at Hackney Downs Studios grow by 15%, as part of an ongoing project to extend and improve our site.
The first ten studios, ranging from 175 to 1185 square feet, are now available to rent in a new section of Hackney Downs Studios called The Theatre, with a further thirty completed by end 2020.
With the Greater London Authority predicting the loss or closure of 17% of artist workspaces in London in the next five years as more warehouses and factories are converted into residential spaces, the timely development of the site meets increasing demand for suitable office and studio space for London’s creative community.
The Theatre Studios, launching March 2020
Located in the heart of Hackney Downs Studios, a former theatre, previously occupied by an acclaimed drama company, has been renovated to offer 10 new studios.
Varying in sizes from 175 to 1185 square feet and split over 2 levels, the studios would suit businesses of all sizes who are looking for impressive workspaces to inspire their most creative work.
The materials and features of the original print factory are revitalised, including original concrete floors, high ceilings and exposed beams. The earthy textures of the bespoke facilities and lighting create a sense of intimacy and warmth.
All ten studios boast plentiful natural light from floor to ceiling glazing and skylights. The space is complimented with bespoke facilities including fully equipped kitchens, social and break out areas.
