Creative Youth Work Advocacy - Research Project

Throughout this Project I & other artistic practitioners used ethnographic research methods to underpin the structures of Creative Youth work. Through the arts programme at Spotlight we immersed ourselves in different workshops; built relationships with Young People in order to develop an understanding of 'Creative Youth Work' as a distinct practice; adopted by Spotlight and others, which supports young people to engage with creative provision in a meaningful way. Below is My Own Research Presentation - An exploration of all I observed and reflected upon, as well as the creative outcomes & findings of my research.

Background:
In 2021 Spotlight was awarded funding from Arts Council England to explore approaches to engaging diverse groups of young people with arts programming.

The themes and ideas that emerged from the research were shared and discussed at an Industry Roundtable on November 5th 2022.

Below is a link to our final report for this stage of the research. We see this report as a starting point for further conversations on the subject of Creative Youth Work, and engaging young people with the arts.
