Crystal CG | Short Film

In collaboration with the "Pixar of China" Crystal-CG, my team was tasked with designing, writing, and storyboarding a short film to be displayed in the Olympic Games Museum in Nanjing, for promotion of the 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

Team Bridge incorporated elements of interactive storytelling into the exhibit's design to teach users about Olympic spirit and the unique cultural history of Nanjing. Our deliverable was personally reviewed and approved by a VP of the International Olympic Committee.

As project manager, I maintained consistent communication between client and team, established production pipelines, and coordinated milestones and deliverables via a SCRUM process. Given the technical demands of the project—a creative synthesis of digital illustration, animation, video production and audio engineering—our team relied heavily on analog ideation (e.g. whiteboarding) to ensure quality and consistency throughout later development.

In order to quickly solve dependencies within the production pipeline, I utilized Adobe Photoshop and Apple Logic to automate components of our art production and to mix a full foley track for several iterations of our film.

In May 2015, the team received a letter of thanks from Crystal-CG, commending them for their efforts and contributions to the production of the film. It can be viewed here.

“The project team... offered us a professional and thoughtful service. They had serious working attitude... and worked efficiently in communication.” — Crystal CG
