I was commissioned to produce a selection of travel images for the camera manufacturer Olympus to demonstrate the quality of two new PRO lenses. For this job I brought a model with me from London and I also did a lot of work on the streets with the locals of Havana. I hired a period villa in the suburbs which had a large, leafy garden, ideal for shooting fashion in. Working with the local people was on the whole quite uplifting. I was invited into houses on more than one occasion. I would also recommend that anyone visiting Havana get a taxi to the boxing club where, if you are lucky, there may be a training session in progress. Cuba is an impressive country, its people are of course held back, but they are extemely resourceful and comminity minded.
