I'm a freelance, creative photographer based in Cheltenham England. I started working in the travel sector, photographing books for Berlitz and Insight Guides before stock photography became more widely used. My travel work won me several national awards. My first love however, has always been portraiture. I've been commissioned by many interesting clients from product design companies, actors, Fashion PR companies to model agencies and festival organisers. I now shoot travel content, corporate headshots and product shots, interiors and architecture on location and from my Cheltenham studio. I also enjoy helping others make the most of their photography and I run regular overseas Photo Workshops for the tour operator KUONI. I was a brand ambassador for the camera company Olympus for 5 years, I've had two solo exhibitions and I have been published in numerous books and magazines. IG: @buchangrant01
- Wearable Art Show - community engagementAnother example of producing work which involves me with my local community was when I read about the superb wearable art fashion show and competition which was taking place in Gloucester Cathedral. I contacted the organiser and offered my services to shoot some "studio lit" location shots showing the contestants within the cathedral setting. The work of the fashion students, designers, talented body artists and enthusiasts was highly inventive and dramatic. The themes for the show were 'Bio-Mi
- Couture in the Cotswolds - community engagementFollowing on from my last post, this is another example of engaging with artisans in my local community. In my first few weeks here in my new adopted town of Cheltenham (since moved to Herefordshire), I came across a dress designer who embellishes her garments with exquisite embroidery. She works with a number of similarly talented milliners and jewellery makers. Within a week we had organised a quick shoot in my little studio, 2 outfits and 2 models.
- Cheltenham International Film Festival - community engagementI recently moved to the Regency city of Cheltenham. One of my clear intentions has been to engage with my community, especially in the field of the arts. I recently responded to a call for help and volunteered my services to help document the inaugural Cheltenham International Film Festival. The task included shooting Q+A's, opening ceremony and closing awards ceremony. Some of this work is shown below.

I lead phototours for the luxury tour operator KUONI. These annual tours involve escorting 10-18 clients on a bespoke long-haul vacation with a strong emphasis on photography. The tuition is relaxed in its delivery, covers all aspects of travel photography with bias towards travel portraiture and working intuitively with strangers. Our first 3 tours took place in India, Vietnam/Cambodia and Russia. There was a high level of repeat bookings for the 2nd two tours
