‘Culture in Colour’ explores the relationship between shape and colour when looking at the Jardin Majorelle in Morocco, capturing the vivid architecture and dramatic forms that are found within the gardens. Through the use of abstraction, block colour and overlapping shapes become the forefront of the imagery, translating a small aspect of Marrakech culture into a collection of samples that reflect a contemporary take on the cultural garden. With a carefully considered combination of techniques such as smocking, devore and embellishments alongside Wilcom CAD embroidery and digital print, this collection recreates the energy and vibrance of Marrakech, showcasing a cohesive and refined collection of samples, suitable for high end women’s fashion.
