Culturing the uncultured is a personal exploration of my daily surroundings and nostalgic memories of the town I’ve lived in my whole life. Inspired by my local area, I look at how Fareham is a microcosm of most small towns in Britain today, outdated and living in another decade and as are the people. I delve into different elements such as; how where I live has become urbanised over the years, the transitions from chav to football hooliganisim, the effect it has living in a small town between two major cities and the clashing cultures of the surrounding farm land paying homage to classic British heritage. I look at how the country elitist inspire urban chav culture and the ways in which they recreate it through fashion enabling a whole new identity.
