Curator of 'Transitivity of Implication', for The Museum of Portable Sound

  • Cristina Sousa-Martínez
  • John Kannenberg

'Transitivity of Implication’ was The Museum of Portable Sound's third temporary exhibition. It had as its main premise the causal chain that Daniel Toca, the artist, created by transubstantiating his own words into spoken word and sound pieces (with the collaboration of Mexican improviser and musician Carlos Edelmiro): like in a hypothetical syllogism that leads us to conclude that from P we can infer ‘infinite’. Toca wrote a text score exclusively for the re-opening of The Museum of Portable Sound*. It was performed live by renowned sound artist and vocalist Viv Corringham and myself, for later recording it and including it within the exhibition. * Held on November 4th of 2016, at Chalton Gallery (London).
