CUTCUUTUR laser cut apparel is a start-up brand created by a team of young architects and designers in Greece. It is established as a fashion brand, which promotes digital fabrication methods, like laser cut, implemented in clothing and accessory design.
The main goal is to apply digital design methods to digital fabrication techniques, through a three phase workflow - 2D or 3D modeling - textile and material adjustment and fabrication (laser cutting, 3D printing).
Inspired by geometric patterns and variable motifs, we designed expressive clothes and accessories that deviate from the ordinary, yet adjusted to casual clothing patrons and textiles. The challenge of each laser-cut pattern is to use and promote the physicality of different fabrics by creating not only fillings and holes but also layers and schusses.
Therefore, the object escapes from the 2D dimensional perspective evolving to a piece of clothing that could be perceived as 3D entity. The combination of light and body movement gives ‘life’ to the fabric, by constantly differentiating the pattern.
