Emerging Hip Hop Artist Daye Jack started his music career in 2014 at 18 years old whilst studying computer science at NYU, releasing the ‘Hello World’ EP. Since then, after signing to Warner Bros. Records releasing the 2015 EP ‘Soul Glitch’ and ‘Surf The Web’ – a 7 track project released in 2016, Daye has also gone on to work with Run the Jewels’ Killer Mike and now the 21 year old Daye has released his debut LP ‘No Data’. Although ‘No Data’ is seemingly a Hip Hop album at its core, as far as genre is concerned Daye Jack has continued to take some interesting steps to distance himself from his peers and create a more individualistic sound. This is perhaps mirrored in his decision to only have three artists feature on the LP; Donmonique, DP and Denzel Curry. The album opens with a funky track ‘No Data’ that introduces both Daye Jack and his personal Artificial Intelligence system called Sam to the listening audience, with Sam calibrating itself to help Daye get paid and be cool, whilst he playfully sings: “Wanna be fly, wanna be smooth (Yeah).
