Defender

A university project in collaboration with James French Jaguar Landrover dealership.
A project to celebrate the life, history and culture of the Land Rover Defender after it was discontinued earlier this year.

The Defender isn’t a vehicle that just gets you from A to B, it is an experience, memorable, and it can get you to where no other car can get you. In an age where you can just google search a location and see hundreds of the same image. Our Defender camera provides an alternative view on this location, one that has a story behind it and a journey behind it. The images create intrigue and a feeling of experiencing it and being in the vehicle.

We turned a 1957 Land Rover series II into a giant camera obscura. The vehicle was then driven to a variety of locations and photographs were taken of the inside of the Land Rover. Locations were chosen to show the versatility and use of the Defender.
